Made with a heat moldable heel counter and an uniquely designed upper that has enough adjustability to accommodate feet with any instep height or foot volume without sacrificing comfort. The CX242 was designed for those riders with foot issues such as bunions, deformation or extremely narrow feet who need a shoe that will not beat their feet up, giving the rider the endurance they need to stay on the bike. The upper has separated panels that allow for fine tuning the pressure and fit which also allows the upper to conform around sensitive and painful spots on the foot without the same level of constraint that is felt in traditional shoe uppers. With a much closer fit than any of our off-road lasts, our Sport last cradles the foot securely to prevent any unwanted movement. This last features a precisely fitted toe-box, high arch & mid-width ball girth. Tip for keeping your shoes water resistant: The uppers are treated from the factory with a DWR (Durable Water Resistant) coating that will wear away over time and use. Like many other water-resistant products, to help keep the shoe uppers from absorbing water that could migrate into the shoe, it is recommended to reapply the upper with a DWR spray which is readily available at most stores that sell outdoor products. We recommend reapplying the coating 1-2 times a year for moderate riders and for heavy use or daily commuter riders reapplying at least after every 2-3 extremely wet rides. For the best results follow the instructions from the DWR manufacturer on how to reapply the coatings. Outsole: Road Sport fiberglass injected nylon outsole. CAPTURE YOUR NATURAL FOOT SHAPE Raven™ Insoles composite foot cradle is designed to be reshaped to your foot. The heel cup of the cradle has small slits made around the upper radius to allow the cup to expand for larger-sized feet. These slits may or may not be visible after molding. Raven™ Insoles are compatible with most cycling shoes. For the best fitting result, place your current insole on top of the Raven™ insole and trace the forefoot shape with a marker. Trim away the excess forefoot foam.
